Monthly Roundup: November 2024

Welcome to the Monthly Roundup: November 2024 edition!  

Where I provide an up-to-date summary of all my current projects 😊

Creative Project(s):

I am still on my editing break from Sanctuary-on-Severn for now. But, this project won't leave my mind. So, I have started doing the prep work for my next round of edits, which will focus on character development.

Right now, I am learning about myself as a writer editing their work as well as what processes work best for me while editing. Once I have these things figured out, I am planning to do a blog post detailing my process, so look out for that if you are interested.

Current Read:

Going to be honest here. Reading has not been something I've done lately due to a variety of factors. Work has been really busy lately (I currently still have a day job outside of writing 🙃), I have been busy creatively with both writing and non-writing projects, and my personal life has also affected things. I could go on, but I won't 😅

I will be returning to reading over December though. My to-read list includes the wonderfully gripping The Order (of the Occasionally Occult or Arcane) series written by my book coach, Rachel Giffin, as well as the first draft of the darkly intriguing (this is a pun as much as it is also true - you'll understand when the book is published 😉) fantasy novel written by my close friend, Mars.

Other projects:

Since my last monthly roundup, I have been dipping my toes back into the waters of already-started-but-never-completed writing projects. I also wrote a brand new short story, which will be available to read on this blog on December 12th 2024 - check back here then to give it a read! 

Mars and I also worked on a collaborative blog post together about the benefits of having a writing support system and community by your side. You can find my post on this topic here, and I recommend you also check out Mars's post on her blog too. 

Sadly, my book coaching sessions with Rachel Giffin have now ended for this year, but I am looking forward to working with her again in 2025.

As usual right now, the rest of my time is currently occupied with organising things for mine and my partner's October 2025 wedding. 

Oh, I nearly forgot! I am looking into providing a newsletter in 2025 so you never have to worry about missing my posts or updates on my writing🙂
