Monthly Roundup: October 2024

Welcome to the Monthly Roundup: October 2024 edition!

Where I provide an up-to-date summary of all my current projects πŸ˜Š

Creative Project(s):

I finished the current round of structural edits for my alternative historical post-apocalyptic novel, Santcuary on Seven on November 5th 2024 πŸ₯³

This was 5 days over the initial 3 months goal I gave myself but I am still happy and proud of myself. A few days over deadline is not something I want to cry over - life has a tendency to throw curveballs so we have to be kind and give ourselves leniences when this happens.

To celebrate, my partner and I had a nice meal and I binge-watched a tv series to give my mind a creative restπŸ˜‚

My next steps for this novel is to take a break before continuing on with edits. You can read more about my plan for this here.

If you haven't seen my other posts on here or on Instagram, you can learn all about Sanctuary on Severn on my dedicated blog post

To see my previous and future progress on this project, you can follow my My Week as a Writer posts on Instagram  as well as my Monthly Roundup posts on this blog!

Current Read:

I am currently still reading Valour by John Gwynne - the second book in his 'The Faithful and The Fallen' series.

I have not yet read further than page 459 as the closer I got to my novel edit deadline the more I focused on that over reading πŸ˜… I am hoping to return to this book next week though!

While I edit Sanctuary-on-Severn, I will also be reading post-apocalyptic novels, starting with one of the stories that inspired my novel in the first place: The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

Other projects:

While I take a break from Sanctuary-on-Severn, I will be working on completing plans for another novel I started when I was at university. Once More is a cozy fantasy adventure quest novel starring a grouchy professor who thinks he is unworthy of others and his naive student who is as clueless as he is kind.

The rest of my time is currently occupied with organising things for mine and my partner's October 2025 wedding. I have also been continuing my coaching sessions with the awesome Rachel Giffin and getting back into doing writing sessions with other writers.

So, there you have it, an up-to-date roundup of all my current projects πŸ™‚
