The time has come for me to step back into the editing ring and re-claim my title of editing champion ...
It has been almost a full 18 months since I completed the first round of edits for my novel🤯
Don't worry - that isn't a normal part of the process 😂I just had a lot going on (including planning and celebrating my own wedding) which meant editing had to take a back seat for a while.
But now ... I'm ready to step back into the ring.
Last month, I spent some time reflecting on the cyclical nature of editing and how preparing for character edits unexpectedly sent me back to plot edits instead.
Then, this past week, I brainstormed scenes and ideas for my novel's subplots - and finally figured out how to stop them from making my heads spin. I also had a bit of an epiphany: the story needs to be rewritten in a different perspective.
A somewhat intimidating realisation ... but an exciting one too!
And, now, after all that thinking, plotting, and reorganising, I finally have a complete to-do list for Round Two of edits 🥳
The gloves are on, the bell is about to ring, and I'm ready to dive back in
